What is Chiropractics?
Chiropractic is derived from the Greek word meaning 'done by hand'. It is a safe and effective natural therapy based on the relationship between good health and a properly functioning spine and nervous system.
The nervous system is, in a sense, the body's control system and is responsible for co-ordinating and regulating the function of every structure, organ and process within the human body. The spine (or backbone) surrounds and protects a major part of this system, thus correct spinal mobility is essential to ensure proper nervous system functioning, and therefore optimal health of the human body.
Chiropractors are specially trained to restore spinal function by making specific adjustments to allow your spine and thus nervous system to work properly again. A properly functioning spine promotes ideal health by restoring optimal nerve, muscle and joint function.
Thus chiropractic treatment not only relieves the body of common symptoms of ill health such as pain and discomfort, but works as a preventative therapy to improve and maintain overall health and wellbeing.
Many people comment on how they tend to get sick less often, feel healthier, stronger and have more vitality with chiropractic care.
